Ohip Coverage Of Panniculectomy

Clint Eastwood, jazz and only an intermediate

say it ... that man is scene, since when was actor only had to make a decision ... I love jazz ... and even invited Stacey Kent (the girl who plays on the blog), a few years ago on his birthday ... It was bad, well, dirty, interested, intriguing, ... in the big screen. And it seems, is undoubtedly a great filmmaker. A few days ago I went to the cinema to see the last of Clint Eastwood .... The truth is that somehow I feel a little fortunate to live in this time when one can go to the movies and see something they do directors such as Clint Eastwood. It is indeed a great director ... and has a knack for choosing scripts and how to get them to the cinema. One of my favorite films of this director ... and I think a work of art was Gran Torino. In recent years
covers many varied topics and very humanistic, very careful ways and modes (or I think so.)

So .. on a Saturday night ... really cold and I want to tell a good story ... movie tickets booked. The film is what it is ... a story about the afterlife. No more. But the way to tell is extraordinary. I really liked introducing me to the life of a successful journalist, who experience such as being a few minutes hovering between life and death, discover thousands of pregutas ago ... His way of life ... How do I live? "Nobody cares what happens after this life? Her scenes, often without translation ... we hear a great French with subtitles.
Simultaneously, in London, a child loses his brother, it's also best friend and soul mate ... and it arises the need for contact with people who can talk to him ... So that it meets the most colorful characters .... is a part of the movie is very funny, because the child does not conflict with any of the people trying to contact her dead brother, without success ... and ... into believing that it is possible to find it. Anyway, do not know why ... he does not despair and keep looking.

On the other hand, there seems to be someone who does have contact with people who have already made the big trip ... it (that goes into the credibility of each person, but as I say the movie is great made ... believe it or not in further or closer). The fact is that this person ... (Who plays Matt Damon) does not wants to use his gift, since he seems to move farther from the people. And conveys perfectly the solitude in which they are immersed ...
The movie has a wonderful photography ... images out of London, the book fair ... Dickens's house .... and a picture in there ... and with that the character played by Matt Damon feels completely online: " Dickens's Dream" of Robert William Buss ... (a Victorian painter.)

remember that this fall, in London, came to the door of the house of Dickens Dougthy Street. I stood in the doorway, with several photos at home ... but I never enter. Had already exceeded the funds to travel. So, I am disappointed to see inside the house. So ... in this film, my curiosity indemnified party, watching with Matt Damon from the house of Charles Dickens ... and your desk ... which wrote many of his novels and thoughts and now me, when I choose any of his books, where characters escaped from one place to another.

I write, well, well ended this post, in a wonderful place ... away from the noise ... in the silence of the country of the moons and snow. Talk about this place on another occasion. The picture of London, is this fall.
When pacing go back to blogging ... with tea in their hands, of course!

then leave a film some time ago I saw a film series organized by a group of elderly in Viña del Mar: the idea was to discuss about the film, after is finalized.
The debate was quite interesting, especially because the character gives final speech to speak, and the opinion of a seniors helped to identify other perspectives on these issues.

I leave the movie and review can read by clicking here .

Dickens - Thomas Hardy

Within a week this book fell apart in my hands. What led to all the places where I had to wait. Is small. It takes up very little space and easy to read. And I've come to the conclusion that Thomas Hardy is a magician of words. Captivated me and made me the wait short. The story at first did not attract me much ... And knowing how often finishes in his books ... less. But there I was, at that time waiting, along with a cup of tea (... in this case a blend of Ceylon Ahmad Tea Assam) and a book in hand, they kept looking for a moment.

... Baptista A woman who deeply hates his job and decides to accept the marriage proposal from an older man who does not love. But that provide "harmony and peace" . Hardy invented a place, a land like England which he called Wessex, (One of the many more that is invented) but in this case uses the imagination y. .. Cornwall area is chosen, although not directly know before writing this story. In that area live our protagonist ... ready to leave his job as a teacher, who hates, and decides to marry without love ... but a small setback ... as the loss of a ship that takes her to his destination, living causes a small interlude, between the life he chooses and that he is offering an instant and I could ... maybe ... be happy. Something she does not seem to aspire.
The story itself, seems cold and sad ... but as I say, Hardy is a whiz with words and as you conditioned a stage and a very pleasant emotional state, introduces you to his characters ... Somehow, I get the feeling that leaves a little to chance, and it is they who have to know how to solve the plot in are immersed.

Despite appearances ... and maybe not all the world will happen if you read it ... but for me, I felt like laughing a lot. Baptista seeing the life that is presented in less than a day and all decisions have to take (and do not take) in a moment ... and that feeling of "come on ... something more!? ? My life can not be more improbable "... That's left carried by the rules, and the word that gives more accurate than the love you feel to say them ... is what makes it move to be in one place or in otr, in that Victorian society governing it outside and inside and he accepts ... no more. While not forgetting the few choices you have ... Because not work.
is also true that there were some moments in the book, which I felt trapped by the star and wanted to save as unique situations that arise and the same time everyday ... They say, not wondering why things happened, and the changes that lie ahead in a short time ... but that includes hosting the event no questions asked. Really difficult ... At least, he tried to put on your skin.

I hardly read anything by this author, as I fear the difficult end. Not that I want an end made in hollywood. But perhaps not as harrowing as that of Tess or Martha Brown. But this book has a disappointing end (and do not say that I have Tess and Martha). In this case, a different ending, unexpected and unusual, but which I enjoyed.
I also liked the format of the book ... and the publisher. In addition there are postscript and a chronological the author, very interesting. It appears that Mere Interlude, was published 17 to October 24, 1885 in The Bolton Weekly Journal. When I meet with these things ... I think ... I'll be losing any current author or author who would have the privilege of reading every week in some newspaper and that may later be collected in a book? Anyway ... At the moment I do not know why, but the newspapers every time I call less attention. I see less interest journalism and more sensationalism.

I will not be the last book Thomas Hardy read anyway ... I'm still caught up in several readings.

YIN-YANG POWER, PLEASURE AND VITALITY

I, "devouring" the book.

This book written by Rachel Magem convey what it is for me the essential quality of natural and macrobiotic diet: simplicity. And it does so with great sense of humor and freshness. It can be a perfect guide to a / a beginner because it explains in detail the wide variety of foods reassuring potential concerns about whether it is possible to achieve the right balance of nutrients through their exposure based on the biochemical and traditional diet therapy. On the other hand, I found that those who already have some shooting in the issue also we are having a great time reading this book that has captivated us by their sympathy at the same time serves as a review of what we already know and gives us Rachel's new unpublished recipes. Raquel

approaches the practice of macrobiotics openly, without restrictions, but bringing awareness of the overall balance, making it clear which foods are commonly used and which are occasionally taken in order to maintain this balance, very important aspect of the macrobiotic diet is based not only on the mere substitution of processed foods and refined by natural and organic foods but largely in the way they eat, are combined and the proportions of each group ingested food.

I asked Rachel to write me some personal words for this entry in my blog:

(Agnès): "Hey, Raquelita, to see if I write a few words on how the macro power creativity and how important it was for you to change your eating habits and how this led you to write this book for an entry that I dedicate to my blog. If "

And this was what she replied:

(Rachel): "-creativity. I can not explain. I carry it in my heart, I am overwhelmed with ideas which in turn enhance the new ideas to keep the level of happiness.
.. -habits in the book sums it up well at first.
-write the book. there is no greater illusion to spread what I know, how I feel, what I can think is so wonderful, you can not stay with me. I wanted to do a book for each started to read it to find answers and advice to keep going. "

I do not think there is a better explanation or testimony about what has prompted this woman to write and publish a book which I hope will be on the shelves of all persons who have an interest and not only for the macrobiotic, but by general nutrition.

Letter from Guernsey and tea

few days ago I ran into this surprise in the mailbox ... came from the island I visited last summer. I wrote a Christmas at the hotel where I stayed, but no response I would get it ... And figured it would be a card "type" in which they would thank me and little else. But what was my surprise to find the envelope in the mailbox and also containing the card was personalized. Which perfectly agree a and the time when I was there, stuns me. Also ... expect to return. The card apparently, is a painter usually stay in their hotel, but in this case does not portray any landscape of the island. .. His name is Barry Watkin . and from what I've seen on websites, usually paints landscapes, and even a Bed and Breakfast. (I placed a link above)

And thinking about the letters ... I recently saw another film at the cinema which is not bad, although you can choose to see perfectly at home . I comes to mind because there are letters in it, and remember it the Second World War were still present (as also happens in Guernsey). It's about a female journalist who investigates the events in Paris, 1942, when part of France supported Hitler. And while research on these facts, discovered through old letters, documents, etc ... the life of one family, one ... one that lived in the house where she is supposed to keep living. It's called "Sarah The key." The story reconstructs the life of a girl from a very short ... and without knowing how, knowing that life, change the direction of the protagonist. There a book, which is based the film bearing the same title, but I decided to read it. I think it's even released in paperback. Now I have read quite a few books. As always happens to me ... just when I have time to read I do not hand the book I have in my hands, so I start another. But in this case is easy to take simultaneously.

As I write, I have yet Christmas tea (takes almonds, cornflower petals, pieces of apple, orange peel ... a wonderful blend) that I have not finished ...
I I would love to Guernsey ... In fact I still go eye to your photo album, and also the mind escapes sometimes small places and moments that were not recorded in a photo, even though I did a lot. .. No wonder someone wanted to talk about the island and write a book that tell the tragedy they experienced. In fact ... even talking about all this ...
Currently there are no plans to return to the island, but I would love to return someday. It's a place I recommend ... but I say softly ... not very high ... that is not saturated.

FOODS USUALLY BE GENETICALLY MODIFIED

"Perhaps it is diabolical to say that to win we should not allow consumers to choose, but probably that is the solution. "
Dale Adolphe, director of the Canadian Seed Growers Association, during a conference in March-April 2002.

Each
After more talk of genetically modified foods, now we know that scientists are able to isolate specific genes and can insert them into the agencies, particularly in food crops. The reasons for these practices range from increasing crop, the achievement of crops resistant to infections and pests, or even the injection of additional nutrients and vitamins. However, the practice of genetic engineering of crops is a double edged sword to be an interference with nature that damages the ecosystem, as well as eliminating threats target also kills other links in the chain of biodiversity . Although there are studies that prove that GM food consumption in the long term it reduces fertility in mice, the effect on human health remains a controversial issue which requires more time to prove their existence. A risk that, like it or not, if we eat only organic food, we are forced to run because the modified ingredients are everywhere and do not necessarily appear on the labels.

Transgenics: A threat to the planet:

The introduction of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in agriculture and food goes back only a few years ago, and yet they are already very present in our fields and in the products they consume. This rapid development of transgenic contrasts with the lack of information and research available on their potential environmental, health and social.

The biotech industry tells the public that genetic engineering is a technique that will bring benefits to mankind. But the supposed benefits have not come true in countries where GM is grown, whereas the risks posed by genetic engineering has been increasingly verified.

the use of GMOs has a great impact in fields as diverse as agriculture, health, production and distribution of food, environmental protection and food security, among others.

Some important considerations:

Health: consumers are reluctant to replace their usual food for genetically modified food whose safety has not been demonstrated.

Free choice of the farmer and the consumer: GMO contamination of seeds, crops and food, lack of segregation of GM crops and labeling failures compromise the freedom of choice for farmers when selecting the different agricultural practices and the free choice of consumers to buy GM-free food.

Ethics: for some, the decision not to eat GM foods does not depend on more or less demonstrated safety, but they are unnatural and unnecessary. Some believe that genetic engineering deeply offends the principles of the relationship between humanity and nature.

Policy: the economic stakes give rise to all sorts of political pressure by the biotech companies, but also by some governments totally disregard environmental and social considerations.

equitable distribution of wealth: the costly research associated development of GMOs and the international rules of intellectual property protection created an oligopoly of a handful of multinationals on the transgenic seed market and privatize genetic material should be the heritage of humanity.

Food Sovereignty: If it is imposed based biotechnology in global agriculture, food security in terms of food availability will fall into very few hands, preventing them from reaching the people's food sovereignty.

What GM is grown in the world:

Today GM varieties are grown in four species: the soybean accounts for 63% of the total area of \u200b\u200bGM maize 19%, 13% cotton and canola 5%. The properties are exclusively inserted agronomic character:

75% are herbicide tolerance: the introduced gene allows the use of broad spectrum herbicides (glyphosate or glufosinate ammonium as a whole) without the transgenic plant is concerned, although other plants die. The plant is tolerant to a particular substance, sold by the same company that distributes seeds (eg using the mark for Monsanto's Roundup herbicide glyphosate-tolerant plants).

17% have resistance to insects, the transgenic plants in which introduced the Bt gene produces an insecticidal toxin.

8% have both properties at once. Corn

Corn is everywhere and Spain is a major producer of genetically modified grain. The fate of the corn is as varied as popcorn and Quico for children, beer, cattle feed, flour, margarine, salad dressings, and any product containing corn syrup. And while much of the GM maize is not destined for direct human consumption, along chain of production-processing-consumption is very difficult to establish a preserve and know with certainty when and how it gets into our bodies. First, because wind pollination by GM maize crops corrupts nearby unmodified (source: Quist and Chapela) and because we consume products derived from animals fed with it.

Bt transgenic corn, developed to produce a poison which alienates the borer also kills insects that feed on other species and butterfly larvae feed on pollen, which upset the balance of the ecosystem, according to a Cornell University study. Soy

Current variety "Roundup Ready", developed by Monsanto, occupies 60% of the area devoted to soybeans in the world. In the United States and Argentina, 90% of the soya is GM in Brazil, the areas of genetically modified soybeans has risen from 5 million hectares in 2004 to 9.4 million in 2005, or an increase of 88%.

Of all the crops, soybean is the most modified. In 2007, more than half of the world's soy come from genetically modified strains. Soy is modified for various purposes. Mainly to improve their resistance to insects and fungi, and also to enrich their vitamins, fat and protein and later use in animal feed. Soy is also essential for the creation of chemicals for pharmaceutical use.

Since soy is one of the most heavily modified crops (and one of the most widely used food additive) is likely if the label includes soybeans, it was derived from genetically modified material. Refers not only to tofu and soy milk, but all foods that include ingredients derived from soybeans. So basic and common foods such as bread, cereals, ice cream and chocolate.

Milk

One of the most controversial GM food is the bovine growth hormone rBGH, which is synthesized from genetically modified bacteria. Produces higher yields of milk-producing cells to keep the cow alive for longer than normal. Although there is no formal difference between rBGH milk and regular milk, critics point out that rBGH cows are more prone to disease, which involves higher concentrations of antibiotics that are filtered bovine milk (source: Epstein).

There are divisions on the safety of milk from of cows that have been injected with rBGH growth hormones that, in principle, are illegal in the European Union and Australia, although est OTHERS ARE allowed in the United States. However, the choice of organic milk is the safest, because it guarantees that the livestock has not been fed GM feed.

Rapeseed

Rapeseed oil, also known as canola oil (a name derived from "Canadian oil, low acid") is one of crops in the most widely used genetic engineering. In western Canada, 80 percent of crops are of transgenic canola (Canola Council). Used for animal feed, rapeseed is modified to be more resistant to certain herbicides. However, GM canola can transfer their resistance around and become useless to pesticides.

One worrying aspect of GM canola is that it produces one of the main pollen used by bees to produce honey. German scientists found that one third of the pollen in the Canadian honey came from GM oilseed rape, which means that all the honey that comes from Canada (unless otherwise specified label) could be classified as GM (source: GMO Compass).

Aspartame

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener 200 times more potent than sugar. Although technically it is an artificial substance and does not occur in nature, aspartame is the result of a combination of two natural amino acids. Two different species of bacteria produce these acids, and in some cases, the bacteria are modified to boost performance.

thus Is aspartame dangerous? Aspartame itself does not contain genetic material, but the debate remains open about their safety. In some countries is prohibited its use for human consumption. So far, laboratory rats fed aspartame had higher rates of lymphoma and leukemia than those who do not consume (source: Associated Press) and is a common sweetener in soft drinks and low-calorie desserts.

"92% of the English population believes that it should be compulsory on the label, if a food is genetically modified."
Survey Sociological Research Institute 2412th reviews and English attitudes towards biotechnology '(March-April 2001).

Effects of transgenic health:

Emergence of new allergies by introducing new proteins in food.

In the U.S., in the famous case called "Starlink corn", in 2000, were found in the food chain traces of GM corn was not approved for human consumption and causing serious allergic reactions .

emergence of new toxins in food (eg due to Bt crops, or new proteins present in the GMO).

generation antibiotic resistance of bacteria pathogenic to humans.
Increased food contamination by greater use of chemicals in agriculture.

are few scientific studies to date on the safety of GMOs to human health.

The process of inserting foreign genes into an organism is unclear, as no effects may occur previstos.Por example, recently showed that Cry1A protein present in Bt corn had
allergenic responses induced in mice.
Moreover, the methods used for health analysis shed no light on long-term effects and toxicity of prolonged exposure to small doses.

This fully justifies the application of the Precautionary Principle.

Beyond environmental risks directly related to human health for many remain a subject of debate, GMOs pose questions about the role of the farmer but also on the agricultural model.
Farmers who choose to use GMO seeds are linked to a technology package, which includes fertilizers, seeds and herbicides. This package is usually accompanied by an obligation to purchase inputs and crop sales to the dealer. This increases the dependence of producers
to businesses. The producer, integrated, could be considered as a worker who has yet to take all the risks associated with agricultural production. Not allowed to save GM seed from one year to another, and have to buy each year to the seed production business. Exercises no control over seeds despite taking the risks associated with its cultivation (climate risk, health risk, etc.).
addition, the development of GMO seeds leads to a loss of biodiversity and national control over seeds important each day are disappearing varieties of seeds.
What if the companies withdraw from the country and decide to invest elsewhere?

"No scientist can deny the possibility of changing the fundamental genetic structure of a food, can cause new diseases or health problems. No long term studies proving the safety of genetically modified crops. Despite this, transgenic crops are being tested on consumers. "

Landing Strip Wax And Gallery

From this and other worlds - CSLewis

So I started the year ... hours after ringing the bell, I read two lines before bed ... it was the book's preface:
"There is no cup of tea large enough or long enough book for my fill ", CSLewis said, a comment that could almost serve as the epigraph to this brief collection. Of course he was serious, because at that time I served him tea in a huge ceramic bowl and was reading Bleak House "
(the preface is written by Walter Hooper, and is so interesting and enjoyable as the book) would add
it depends on the book and tea ... The book talks about this and other worlds, referring to those books of fiction that can sometimes follow liking it. Do not go thinking I've done ... I still have my usual reading rate: slow and if possible with tea before going to the world of dreams ...
The book you can read it at any time and any way ... ... In my case, opening it with your eyes closed and found one specific chapter more or less interesting. It is an essay, a personal opinion about the books that inhabit this and other worlds, and very neglected to have that read, to think that it is children's books.
In one of those moments, in which one opens the book without ... know where I found this:

I like the knuckle but I'm sure that in my childhood I would have liked nothing. However, still liking the lemonade. I call this grow or develop because now I am richer than it was, if previously only enjoyed one thing, now I do both. If I had to go off the lemonade to the knuckle I liked, I would not call that growth, but simple change. Now I like Tolstoy and Jane Austen and Trollope, but also fairy tales, as I call it growth.

This is one of those books that you recommend a friend (who loves reading) and go to the library all decided to take a look and discover how wonderful it is ... only at first sight. That's what happened years ago, because I think it takes me a whopping four years. Despite being so different from other books, and also stay in a person's thinking ... thinking about what makes you think what you read, why read this and not the other, what type of reading which you most excited you or did you stop reading that book ... Well, to me, has raised these questions ...
I'll tell you more about it when more data you have ...

In this long time I have been absent from this world where I usually sit around with tea included ... have been some different things, including some changes. Soon, I had dismissed (some distant and higher and make that great journey, which often do not choose when or where), as well ... music, silence, a thousand and one laughs ... surprises, in order ... moments. That is what life is filled, no? And the odd bit of reading ...
The last day of the year, I planned to make things a different way than it happened ... you know ... there are stories that one can not choose when they have to go ... However, there was a trip to a city that always have something from me, Cáceres, ... to see family, but the stay was shorter than I thought ... despite that, I enjoyed the most intense of the people around me ...

Another thing ... did not expect was to see again Michael Nyman in a single session in the Gran Via in Madrid ... And I had such good luck the opportunity to say something in person, but I know little English ... I was speechless when he saw him in front of me ... Finally I could utter a word and told him to come see him and could I get a picture with him ... I said yes ... well ... things that one goes dead of shame ...

film was also : yesterday, I saw " Of Gods and Men," a film I recommend, because apart from being real ... do not leave indifferent movies. To learn more, visit this page ... here
is hard, let alone thinking it was something that happened in real life. Based on what is left as written and told two of the survivors. It has a large Beauty in how you count and what they convey .... And best ... gestures, glances with each other and the village community where they live. Teaches that one can think differently and therefore not die, and that often is blamed and is generalized to the whole population, when in fact it has VICTIMS and from whom the torturers may seem ....¿ A blame? "At last? How misguided ideas, which is required to be in one way or another? ... Where is freedom really? This film also shows us the difficulties of these people to decide what to do ... stay and continue with the population they serve or leave and save their own lives ... ... wonder what life would be if they abandon those who trust in them ... it really pure reflection. There are also many moments of silence. Really surprised me ...
... At this time there were also visits from friends, family ... all welcome. And it came back to everyday life ... this year with more enthusiasm and receiving good news ... because I thought it would not work and seems to be yes ... that moment, in spite of this crisis (and other crises, stock we have been dragging), the moment I continue ... perhaps in other conditions, but ... working! That was the best gift of time.

Their Majesties, the Kings have not been forgotten to stop by and leave some other details that material from distant lands. I will go gradually revealing, but among them were "The Pickwick papers" of Dickens ...

Thanks for the posts ... I do not imagine the great illusion that makes me. And I apologize for not researching better what I read ... it seems that the text actually wrote saying that he belonged to Borges, is not it ... I regret the mistake and many thanks to those who have corrected me. I hope to be more cautious in the future.
I will visit ...
